The school Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is centrally situated next to the ICT lab, and is open from Monday to Friday from 0745 hrs to 1600 hrs.
 Every student in the school can use the Learning Resource Centre to study or borrow books. While in the Learning Resource Centre, students are required to study quietly. The Learning Resource Centre remains open during lunchtime to borrow or return books.

The mission of the LRC is to produce healthy, happy, well-adjusted graduates who are academically competent and have career and life skills necessary to become contributing productive citizen.

There is formal seating for 25 users. In addition there is a carpet for the young ones (Kindergarten and Keystage 1&2). The LRC is used mostly by senior students in their study periods, however, all teachers may take whole classes to the library for a project session where they incorporate the use of reference material into the lesson.

All student textbooks are issued centrally from the LRC, and returned when a student is leaving, or moving up a year group.

Book Collection and Access
Currently the LRC has approximately 7,000 books comprising of different subjects that are taught in the school syllabus and allows access to such materials for either borrowing or for reference. In addition, it stocks a wealthy collection of novels for recreational reading. The books are classified according to the 19th Edition of Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. The LRC system is computerized though it is not an online catalogue. 



Reference Tools
The LRC has a vast collection of reference tools like encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, yearbooks, Thesaurus, World almanac etc. Current awareness magazines e.g. Science magazines are also available. There are also daily newspapers.


Careers Section
The careers section has a number of university prospectus’ and study guides for graduate schools in the UK, USA, Canada, Europe and South Africa.

Internet Access
The LRC houses seven computers with access to the Internet during school hours. A printer is provided for printing any information deemed relevant.

Red House Book Club

This is an international book club specializing in children’s books for over 35 years, at Red House we carefully choose the books that we passionately believe deserve to be on every child’s bookshelf. We take great pride in helping you find the best books for your children.  Students have an opportunity to order and buy books for their home library.  Every time there is an order, the school gets 20% of the order value back in reward that is used on free books for the school library.
